Teambuilding from July 2007
Last Tuesday we had a new team building (first this year, at least for me). After a hot start (from the city concrete) we arrived at Curmatura, near Rasinari. Plenty of green (as you can see in the pictures), a small river, not so hot (only late afternoon the temperature was nicer - some would say even cold) and lots of cars (we had 9 or 10 cars for 15 persons). Some of us prepared the food, some of us cooked it (me included) and some play football. It is the same “team-building” atmosphere from the last years, with more persons and more food (maybe it was too hot to eat but it remained a lot of food).
If you (participants) have something to say please contribute to this article (or start a new one in this category), I don’t feel in the mood to write funny now, but wish to share the pictures. Maybe later I’ll expand it with some more thoughts.
Below you can see the pictures taken with this occasion. (there was only one photo camera so there isn’t too much to see).
NTFS partition resize with free tools
Last week I need a new partition on my external drive. The HDD has 80Gb split in 2 partitions, one of 20Gb and one of around 56Gb. The first partition was nearly full and the second had 30Gb of free space (but with many fragmented files). The obvious solution is to move the 26Gb from the second partition to another drive, delete it and create 2 smaller ones. But if you don’t have the 26Gb of temporary space there is another solution: shrink the second partition and create a new one in the free remaining space. This can be achieved with Partition Magic but the tool is not free. (You can download a trial version and see if it is working but using free tools is better – and I was eager to see if it is possible). The process I’ll describe below is simple and can be applied to any external HDD drive with ntfs partitions (and probably other types, by using the correct tools).

Writing for the blog
Motto :
Blog is internet fast food. We are in a hurry, informal and want to know exactly what is on the menu.
The Wittmann&Partner blog is intended mostly as a technical affair.
Beware, you will also find some of my thoughts on software as marketing person. Worst, as a user
For my first post I want to share a few tips on how to write for the blog from my experience with copywriting and PR.
Hopefully it comes at the right time because we are now challenging our colleagues to write their first posts. (more…)
Blog intention
Keep IT Simple – this is the way the Wittmann&Partner team creates software solutions – simple and efficient.
Why
This blog it is built by Wittmann&Partner team with intention to give back to the community a part of our knowledge from different domains like: software programming, web solutions including content management systems, project management and research.
In the past three years our team has launched and implemented with success different software solutions like: iFinance, iManagement, iSFA, iCRM. After discussions with our users we realize that a special place where functional aspects of our products need to be created.
A special place will be represented by research: in 2006 we where nominated at IST Prize 2005 with one of our products – iGDSS – Group Decision Support System. With this and with all results from 2000 when we started to invest in research we collect and develop a series of new products – here we have a lot of interesting things to disseminate. (more…)
